Game Overview



  Forsaken Sanctum is a web based massively multiplayer game based on a Mud design. The game play consists of text based commands with a touch of graphics like maps and inventory.
 The idea is to take all the best features we love about convential muds and add some updates like graphics and a web based interface. Players will be able to play from any device with a browser.

 The idea behind Forsaken Sanctum spawned nearly 8 years ago with the motivation to build a living breathing world that players could feel a part of. This was and still is the core of the game. A game that grew around the players. A game that relies on the players much like how the real world relies on the living things that inhabit it. It is a new world. A world waiting for players to seize their chance at a weaving their story into a world of adventure and the unknown. A new world breeds new heroes. It is those heroes that will define the future of FS.

Web Based
 Playable from and device with a browser. PC, Mac, Linux, Android, IOS, Blackberry, ect..
Multiplayer
  Massively Multiplayer. Capable of thousands of players.
Large Map System
 4 million locations per zone, 3 zones planned for alpha, 10 zones planned for beta.
Interactive Locations
 Each location has options for harvesting(lumber, mine, hunt, fish, ect..) every location can be owned by players and buildings can be built on them.
Player Owned Buildings
 Houses, Stores, Farms, and much more.
Interactive Towns
  Mayor system, shops, jobs, and much more. Towns grow as players inhabit them.
Battle System
 Unique Battle system and Psionic system that allows player to mix and match abilities.
Vehicles
 For fast travel and hauling goods.
Crafting System  Anything can be crafted and a unique custom crating for building new items. Players can build their own special items.
Guild System
 Guild Houses, Guild Treasures, ect..
Living World
 Day/Night and Weather system with temperature factors. In other words you cannot go hiking through snowy mountains in shorts and a t-shirt. The wolrd will dynamically grow and die. Plants will increase and decrease with time and the seasons.
Event System
 Zone and location events that affect everyone. Wars and Harvesting events.
Classless System
 Skills are gained and raised by how much you use them and main skills are chosen by the player.
Social
 Real Time chat and friends system.
Pets
 Breed and raise pets and companions.
Auctions
 Auction system and trading.

Technology



The game is completely custom and is built on HTML5, Javascript, NoSQL, and Nodejs as the server. It will also utilize various libraries like Jquery and Bootstrap.



The World



 The world of FS is a unique landscape of unexplored locations. Much of it is wilderness dotted with alien ruins and fragement of the crashed ships. When not exploring ruins of a past uknown civilization players can wander the world salvaging the wreckage of the crashed ships Magellion, Odyssus, Oasis, and the Jugernaught.
 The terrain is new to human eyes and very uninhabited so it is common for players to claim a chunk of land for themselves to call home. Be weary however of how much and where you claim as Forsaken Sanctum is full alien creatures which many are hostile and territorial. A piece of claimed land without protection is nothing more than a raid waiting to happen.



Game Play



 Much of the game will be played through text commands. Even movement will require a move command but most if not all commands will have shortcuts. The map and item system however will be graphical.
 The text will allow many features more customization and a better, deeper player experience. Skills are used via text and can be changed and customized via more commands and mixing and matching other skills.



Community



 The game will be very community driven and will essentially revolve around the players. Supply and demand will be built on the players. The more players that grow food the more food that will be in shops and auctions. Players will need to rely on each other to survive.
 The chat system will be real time and with several channels. Players will also encounter each other espcially in towns and will have many options to interact with each other. Trade, battle, group, to name a few.
